You aren't losing anything. You can still use pages as CSS (and can set them to the correct MIME type now) -- no-one is forcing you to use stylesheet resources. Of course, you'll have to go on maintaining a base URL or kludge a relative URL, just like in R5. You are gaining new functionality, not losing what you had -- and having direct edit access to a database resource in an up-to-date external application beats the daylights out of the old equivalent, which was storing "real" CSS files as image resources and doing the export/launch app/edit/save/refresh thing.
